- This year will be the 28th year that the Ruahine White Water Club has held the annual Foxton Loop Race. The original race was from Foxton Township and around the southern end of the river out to the Manawatu and then back into the loop back to Foxton. Over the years the course around the southern entrance was blocked off by weed and we had to change our race. For the last 6 years we have run the race from the Manawatu Marine Boating club over 18kms of tidal water up to a buoy at Foxton and then back. Last year we had 2 big floods that cleaned out the southern entrance so this year we will run the original race around the Foxton Loop, several of our members have been using this course for training for the race and we will bring the race back this year.
